I'm currently a brand strategist at The Escape Pod where we specialize in helping brands escape from convention. Prior to this, I taught graduate and undergraduate level courses on digital communication, media representation, interpersonal relations, and media ethics. I write for diverse audiences, publishing my research in top-tier media journals and, on the flip side, write celebrity news stories for Reality Tea - the foremost site for reality TV news & gossip. Did I mention I'm a reality TV junkie? Because I am!
I have a Ph.D. in new media & communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago and qualitative digital methods training from the Oxford Internet Institute and Queensland University of Technology. I have expertise with in-depth interviewing, digital ethnography, and media framing which help drive my research and inform strategy in agency life. Basically, I'm a research nerd who wants to makes positive changes in media and help brands position themselves in the world.
When I'm not researching & writing, you can find me out in the sun, swimming, practicing my photography, winning trivia contests, or binging Real Housewives - which was, in fact - the topic of my dissertation.
I'm available to provide media commentary on all things related to celebrity, reality TV, social media, and branding. Contact me below or find me on LinkedIn & Twitter.
